Excel Tutorials - Excel 2007 Reference

No Excel Tutorials is complete without a handy Reference Card.

A great way to become familiar with Microsoft Excel is to use a reference card.  A reference card is a few page summary of the features and commands available in a program.  If you search on the Internet you can find reference cards for just about any software program out their.

I find using a reference card enhances the training I get from the Excel tutorials that I use.  They help to reinforce the training and saves me a bunch of time from having to search through the Excel tutorials to find the command or technique that I may have forgotten about.

Here is a reference card I made for those of you who are using Excel tutorials.  I hope you find it helpful.

I have made a downloadable pdf version you can add to your Excel tutorials.

Excel Tutorials - Introducting the Ribbon Bar

In today's Excel Tutorials, we are going to discuss the New Ribbon Bar. When you first open Microsoft Excel 2007, you may be a little shocked! Microsoft has decided to introduce a new feature called the "Ribbon Bar" The Ribbon Bar is Microsoft's attempt at replacing the Menu bar that we have grown accustomed to. So regardless of which Microsoft Office 2007 product you are using, you will have to learn to use the Ribbon Bar.

The Ribbon is designed to help you find the commands that you need to complete a task. Commands are organized in groups, which are collected together under tabs. Each tab relates to a type of activity, such as writing or laying out a page. To reduce clutter, some tabs are shown only when needed. For example, the Picture Tools tab is shown only when a picture is selected.
